Baseball Season Begins!

We will be spending lots of time at various ball diamonds as we follow Tyelr's two baseball teams. These are pictures from one of the first tournaments a couple weeks ago...not the best place to get some action shots. Tyler usually plays catcher for his traveling team, The Reds. He is good buddies with all of his teammates and we the parents are pretty chummy as well. Looking forward to a fun summer!

Hailey Turns 9

Hailey celebrated her 9th birthday with an accessory themed party. She and five of her friends played pin the lips on "Hailey", How Well Do You Know Hailey, Lip Gloss Drop, Hot Purse, and Guess What's in the Purse. The girls each decorated their own canvas purse with fabric markers and fabric paints. They enjoyed eating the purse shaped cake and just being girls. Each girl took home a gift bag filled with items to put inside their new purse such as lip gloss, nail polish, and a flip brush.

Soccer Star

Tyler is playing on a traveling soccer team. The boys are mostly playing teams that are a year older than them, but they managed to sneak in a win at home this weekend. They beat Waverly 3-1. Tyler usually plays goalie for half the game and then either defender or forward. We enjoy watching this group of boys play together!

Easter "Hoppenings"

We had a very busy Easter Weekend! It began with an indoor Easter Egg hunt by Grandma Joyce and Aunt Jill. We found 124 eggs hidden upstairs. It wasn't nice enough to go outdoors. We dyed eggs with Grandma Sharon and Al on Saturday morning. Then the Easter Bunny stopped by while we were sleeping and left small gifts and candy! Mom ate ALOT of our chocolate since she gave it up for Lent. We spent Easter day at Grandma Sharon and Al's where we had another Easter Egg Hunt. Wow.....we made out like bandits with the candy. Mom sent some to work with Dad.

Let's Play Ball!

Luke, Cole and Daddy welcomed the baseball season with a little throw together wiffle ball in the backyard. This gave mommy a chance to use her camera outdoors and boy was she excited by the sharp pictures! Can't wait to use it more this summer!! Hailey and Tyler were both at practices, so we enjoyed some time with just the little guys.

Happy 6th Birthday, Luke!

Today little Luke turned six years old. He had his first "friend" birthday party. We kept it simple by allowing only three friends and at Luke's request went to McDonalds Playland (this is a treat for any of the Hirsch children because the germ factor keeps us away the rest of the year). Then we headed back to our house to open presents, eat cupcakes (another Luke request), and play. The boys had a lot of fun! Apparently I need to allot for more than three and a half hours for the next party because they couldn't believe it went so fast. We will celebrate with family on Sunday.

Still Wrestling After All This Time!

We have had a busy month of wrestling! For those of you away from the sport this is the height of the wrestling season for little guys. A season of many matches all comes down to making it count at districts. We will be in Bettendorf bright and early next Saturday...Tyler will need to place in the top four to make it through to the AAU State Competition in Des Moines. Either way we are so proud of him! Be thinking of Tyler on Saturday and send him positive thoughts!

Hailey has been keeping busy with a Little Blazer dance camp, a volley ball camp, sleep overs and a weekend trip to Des Moines (thanks Grandma Sharon and Al!). She also began playing on an indoor soccer team. Her first game was today and mom forgot her camera at home. Just didn't want anyone to think we forgot about her!
